THE SUPER SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION COMPETITION IS AN ONLINE COMPETITION FOR STUDENTS AGES 11 – 17 FROM AROUND THE GLOBE. WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE WORLD’S MOST INNOVATIVE YOUNG LEADERS THAT ARE WORKING TO CREATE A MORE SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY. WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON JUNE 1ST, 2016. SUBMISSIONS BY VIDEO
You will have to submit a video of your Super Sustainable Innovation (SSI) from MARCH 7TH until MAY 9th, 2016. Your SSI should be Project Based, Technological Invention or Social Movement. The video should be 3 minutes long, clearly explaining your SSI, and finish by answering the following questions:
1) How can SuperCamp help cultivate you as a Green Leader in your community?
2) What skills would you like to learn from SuperCamp at Green School Bali?

As we look into the present to find the solutions for tomorrow, we see the importance and potential that all students around the world have, to provide real solutions. We want to bring these Sustainable Innovations of tomorrow to the forefront of today, and by holding this competition we hope to foster interest and action. The winners will receive a full scholarship to a life-changing 7-day SuperCamp at Green School Bali.
Submit your Super Sustainable Innovation (SSI) in order to enter to win a spot at SuperCamp at Green School Bali this summer. Send us a video that is a maximum of 3 minutes long: tell us who you are, where you are from, and what your SSI is. Then upload your video to YouTube. In your video, finish by answering the following questions: 1) How can SuperCamp at Green School Bali help cultivate you as a Green Leader in your community? 2) What skills would you like to learn from SuperCamp at Green School Bali? Once you have uploaded, email us at anna@greencampbali.com, with a subject line “SC_SSI_LastName_FirstName” and a link to your video.
Read below about the 3 kinds of innovations that qualify for the competition.
Project based Have you ever created a grey water management system in your house or in your neighborhood? Have you ever installed solar panels in your house? Have you ever made a recycling system for your house or your community? Have you ever created a native plant garden or wildlife habitat at your school or home? If you have taken on any of these projects or other projects related to sustainability, such a project qualifies for our competition. Your project can be at any stage – idea stage, start-up phase, or a recently completed project. Tell us (and show us!) about your project and why it is a Super Sustainable Innovation.
Technological invention Are you an inventor or innovator of existing technologies? Have you ever thought that some machines could work better a different way? Currently we take most of our energy from petroleum and so we desperately need other ways to harness energy. Waste management? Did you know that Sweden now recycles 99% of their waste by converting it to usable energy? Have you ever participated in any Citizen Science technological innovation, or made a website or digital tool to raise awareness about an environmental issue? If you have an idea for, or have already created a Technological Innovation and would like to spread the word about it, then tell us about it as your SSI. Be sure to explain your innovation well, and include shots of any designs/drawings/models/webpages that you may have in your video.
Social movement Not all forms of change come in physical forms. To change the way we do things we must first change the way we see things. Social Movements have often been the catalyst for paradigm shift that then leads to a cultural change, this is as important today as any other technological invention or project geared towards environmental sustainability. If you have ever, or would like to create a Social Movement that promotes sustainability on any level then you can submit this as your SSI.
